A-Maze-In Mind Program
I’m Wendy and I’ve been a counsellor since 2010. I have a passion for working with and supporting young people and providing real life, lived experience of mental health issues. I believe that early intervention is key to reducing the occurrence of future mental health issues. Teaching skills on how to build resilience and self-awareness as well as tools, strategies and techniques to recognise mental health issues and manage symptoms has been proven to be effective in reducing the need for further mental health intervention in later years. The purpose of this six-week program is to provide this early intervention in a way that appeals to young people. To deliver an easy to digest program on what common symptoms of anxiety and depression can look and feel like. What you can do to manage those symptoms and how being self-aware can help you manage your mental and emotional health and well-being. This is a unique program that can be delivered via a secure on-line platform or face to face at our office in Castle Hill. We have found that the young people of today prefer to communicate on-line and that having the anonymity of being on-line enables them to participate and contribute in a way they may not feel comfortable doing in person. Each participant is required to attend an hour long interactive lecture once a week for six weeks. A workbook, journal and stationery pack are sent to each student prior to the start of the on-line component. The cost of the program is just $300 for six hours of mental health education and awareness and equipping participants with tools, techniques and strategies to manage symptoms, build resilience and create self-esteem. The program is run on-line on: Monday and Wednesday 4:00pm to 5:00pm Monday and Thursday 7:00pm to 8:00pm The program is delivered in Castle Hill Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 and 11:30 to 12:30
