Screenwise was established in 2000 with the purpose of providing specialist, career-focused training in acting for film & television. Screenwise offers full-time and part-time creative and technical screen acting programs and school holiday workshops for teens. SCREENTEENS Acting Classes for Young Adults (during term) The next generation of actors Screenteens acting classes are designed specifically for young adults between 12 and 16 years old. Screenteens aims to teach young adults the professional screen acting techniques that are essential for a successful move into the Film & TV industry. Students will learn how to break down a scene, build a character, master audition and screen tests through to script reading, improvisation, presenting and devising scenes – the perfect training ground for young aspiring actors. Screenteen tutors are committed and dedicated to developing dynamic and confident performers and have extensive professional teaching and industry experience. Screenteens acting classes run in conjunction with school terms each Saturday morning, with one class per week over an 8-week period- making it the perfect course for you. No audition is required. Places are strictly limited. Graduates of Screenteens have auditioned and appeared in some of Australia’s leading film and TV series such as Puberty Blues, Home and Away, Tomorrow When The War Began, All Saints, The December Boys, H2O and Blue Water High. Headshots of Screenteens who are currently attending acting classes (and are not represented by an agent) are kept on file and submitted to casting consultants for audition consideration whenever there is a suitable Film or TV series being cast. Thanks to referrals from Screenwise, many of our students are now represented by some of Sydney’s top Acting Agencies. SCREENTEENS Acting Classes for Young Adults (school holiday workshops) The Screenteens Holiday Workshop provides a fun, engaging and professional learning environment where young students will build a solid understanding of the acting industry. You’ll become confident with your knowledge of the performance making process whilst making new friends in a social and creative setting. The School Holiday Workshop will equip students with the following industry tools: - Learn to break down a scene - Build a character from the ground up - Find the truth in performing - Learn to utilise props within a scene - Develop your ability to take direction - Master continuity by acting in front of the camera each week - Learn to master your audition technique
